Representation of Gender (men)

The camera was mostly aimed on the boy character which suggest that he is dominant. The speech of the guy was all calm even when he was shouted at which suggest that this is an example of a typically masculine character. The other male character who had the whole class under control was a man as well which again gives/ suggest that the men in the play has more power than girls. The guy was not shy or scared showing his body parts which is another example of a hero. The way he spoke to the girl and reacted iinfront the class shows that he is quite active. The lesson had to stop because of him which gives him more importance.
there was a guy in the background as well which suggest that the men in this clip are the main characters. Every thing is under their controll.

Representation of gender (women)
the opening scene was whith a close up of the girl character which suggest that the cahracter is not typically feminine. The (women) characters wasn't shown for long in he clip which take shows that the audience don't really need to focus on them as they are not that important.
both characters shown had to help eachother put which suggest that they are not independent.
the forst character had to ask for help as she was weak and couldn't help her self. Whereas the other character didn't have any controll on the class therefore she had take help from the man to ake sure the pupil obey her oreders.

Mise-e-cene

C- costume/ make up

S- space

The sostume and make up was normal and casual which suggest that they were in college.
the girl was wearing pink/red lipstic which suggets that she is seductive and passionable.
there wasn't any free space in the clip, it was all based on extreme close up to shiw facial expression. It was noraml day light to make it look realistic like a daily school day.
Rule of third used when the teachers walks towards the pupil to create a seriose scene, and so the audience focuses in the middle at her.

  1. Remember to link your points directly to gender. Why does a particular colour suggest she is seductive? Does this mean she is feminine. Think about linking media terminology and analysis together.
